Enveloped in a tenderly and carefully arranged world full of sensory impressions and sounds materials, movements and images, Sensescapes awakens the curiosity of the very youngest audience.
The interactive space containing visual, tactile and auditory elements takes on a life of its own through the physical movements of the spectators in the space and their sensory input. A sequence of choreographic and sensory events, arranged and composed with attentive care, stimulates the audience.
Serbian artist and choreographer Dalija Acin Thelander researches choreographic practices that focus on directness and the inclusion of the audience in her work for the very youngest audiences. She encourages young visitors to her installations to experience the performing arts from multiple perspectives and speaks to their kinesthetic senses, as well as to their sense of »near« and »far«. In this way, she hopes to facilitate the young spectators' perception and their relationship to art. Thelander holds to the belief that »to give someone a choice means to empower them«.
