THINGS at the End of the World (3+)

Dance piece for children and adults |

Alfredo Zinola | Germany |

THINGS at the End of the World is a dance piece about human beings and its relationship with nature that takes the audience on a unique experience that captivates children and adults alike.

In THINGS at the End of the World, the space is transformed into a fascinating assemblage of different things and materials that the audience encounters from the comfort of eye-level seating. A mobile rock formation, which moves through the space as the piece progresses, creates a clear logic and mystical order. Salome D'Ailia and Alfredo Zinola, the two protagonists of this piece choreographed by Zinola, take the audience on a fascinating journey where the world as we know it is turned upside down and a simple theater space becomes a new universe where anything seems possible. With clear gestures and without words, allowing the audience's consent and willingness to be felt, they create an atmosphere of ceremony and hospitality that invites the audience to approach the unknown with curiosity and respect.

Alfredo Zinola (he/him), choreographer and performer, he began his academic career with a bachelor's degree in Anthropology - Intercultural Communication from the University of Turin, before moving on to study Modern Dance at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany, and curating for the performing arts at the University of Salzburg. His artistic focus is on the creation of contemporary dance pieces for young audiences. He regularly collaborates with renowned artists such as Felipe González, Maxwell McCarthy, Ximena Ameri and Micaela Kühn Jara. From 2020 to 2022, his work will be showcased as a Factory Artist at the tanzhaus nrw in Düsseldorf. www.alfredozinola.com
